Vintage Aqua & Cherries

I am a bad person and an even worse blogger.  I have abandoned my blog baby for quite some time.  I have been M.I.A., not

not in MIA (although I wish that were the case),

(If you didn't make it through the video above, I don't blame you)

but regular ole M.I.A.

Life happens and you know what?  The times, they are a' changin'!

One of the things that I have been busy doing instead of yakkin' yo ear off (you're welcome) is having my picture taken.  These photos are old but they're new to this blog, so whatevs.

I love working with Kristin, she is super sweet and also pretty good with a camera!  Check out her site!

Thrifting 101

When people compliment me on what I'm wearing, often times, I like to tell them where I found the item and how much I paid for it, not because it was a lot, but because it was a little.  In response, I hear a lot of "You find the best deals!" "I don't know how you do it!" and "I could never master the art of thrifting!"  For those of you who see thrifting as a challenge, click this link!

I have written a little article, a guidebook, to help you on your journey, into the land of inexpensive fabulousness!

A Harlequin Romance Novel

Here are some photos from my latest shoot.  Shot in Paynes Prairie, this was a lighting workshop for the group, Gainesville Photographers, which turned out to be the windiest day of our lives!

Photo By: Kristin Kozelsky (check out her blog!)

See, I'm not lying!  Poor Kirill had my hair blowing in his face all day!

If you look carefully at the photo below, you will see that I cried one single tear, not out of sadness, not because I am a great actress (ha!), but because of the hurricane force winds!!!!!

Male Model: Kirill, a real sweetiepoo!  If you need a male model, check out his Model Mayhem Account.  He is great to work with, and a pretty cool cat in general!

One of the photographers, Rodney Rogers, described some of these photos as possible covers for a Harlequin Romance Novel. :)

Kirill is 6"4, so he had to do quite a bit of slouching not to tower over me.

I think this one looks like the beginning of a scary movie, but I'm weird, what do you think?

Photo By: I am a bad person and do not know who took this photo, I honestly looked for quite some time but came up with nothing, if you took this, please let me know and I will give you credit! :)

If the Madonna "Ray of Light" song wasn't so annoying, I would insert it here.

The mystery one above is probably his as well, see the similarities, huh, huh?!

My Fashion Parkway Interview with Viscosity Vintage

I am an avid Refinery29 reader, if you have not checked them out, then you should change that by clicking this link!. A few months ago, I discovered that they opened an office in Miami.  I was overjoyed and of course subscribed to the mailing list.  Not long after subscribing, I read this post and discovered the fabalas Shay Marie of Fasion Parkway.    I noticed that she was looking for writers, and my heart leaped for joy.  Shay and I began talking (she is so sweet!), I applied, and the rest is recent history.
Here is the link to my first post for the site, an interview with Viscosity Vintage, an online boutique that you should definitely check out!  You might even see me on the site, modeling their fab wares.  Look for me, think of it as a fun rendition of Where's Waldo, it's fun because clothes are involved!  Here a couple to get you started.  All items worn below are for sale. ;)

Make sure you check out my interview and go shopping, you don't even have to leave your computer, ah technology!

Simply Rockin' Giveaway Winner

Hey Guys and Gals, check out my Look of the Day for INsite Magazine's Blog!

 Simply Rockin'

Visit INsite Magazine's Blog!

JD Bray was spotted at The Top, looking both trendy and chic! JD’s day started with dressing for work at Aldo Shoes, where he’s the Assistant Manager. The store was having a rock ‘n’ roll inspired theme. He wore khakis with a denim shirt, leather boots from Aldo (the Tyra, his favorite), a bomber jacket and statement glasses. His look was simple, but pristine and sophisticated enough to transition into night— the signature of all great outfits. JD likes to describe his personal style as “casual chic.”
“I like to feel comfortable in my clothes, but comfortable doesn’t always have to mean unfashionable. I mix a lot of skinny jeans with cap toe dress shoes to dress up a look. Now that it’s colder I find any excuse I can to wear a pair of military/combat boots,” he told us. JD describes his taste as being “all over the place.”  He likes to shop at Forever 21 and H&M, but he let us in on a little secret: Sandy’s and Urban Thread are great places to find statement shirts. His look certainly made enough of a statement to grab our attention.

And now, the WINNER of

Look(s) of the Day(s)

Howdy!  If you did not know, I have been writing "Look of the Day," posts for INsite Magazine's Blog.  If you did know, then now, you REALLY know.

Who doesn't love a good street-style?

Khambrea Johnkins was spotted while shopping in Forever 21. She looked very stylish, yet not over-done. When choosing her ensemble, her goal was to look cute but not forfeit comfort. Who said you can’t have the best of both worlds?!
A simple, black long-sleeve shirt paired with leggings offers a clean, sleek look, and every girl knows that this outfit would feel as good as a pair of pajamas! Throw on a pair of stylish black sandals and you are prepared to shop till you drop.
Add the vest for some personality, the glasses for trendiness, the bracelet & bag for some sparkle and what you’ve got is one alluring outfit!
Top:  Old Navy
Jean Vest:  Guess
Tights:  Forever 21
Sandals:  Traffic
Glasses:  Urban Outfitters (“This is what made my look!” Khambrea said.)
When Khambrea’s not shopping, she’s studying nursing at the University of Florida, but watch out. She is contemplating a transfer to pursue fashion, and we think she should go for it. Big thanks to her for the inspiration! You can look cute and still be comfortable.

Laura Dean, originally from Tucson, Az., has lived in Gainesville for the past two years and is currently working for Keith Watson Productions as a wedding design specialist. When she’s not at work, she loves spending time downtown seeing shows at the Hipp and hanging out with friends. Not only does Laura like visiting the Hipp, she also looks pretty hip! She was spotted at The Top in an outfit composed of varying elements that achieved perfection.
Laura stays true to a lot of classic looks and pieces but enjoys mixing things in that are a little out of the box, which gives her outfits that pop of intrigue. She is open-minded when it comes to shopping. “I think everyone has that one item in their wardrobe that they found somewhere they would usually never shop,” she says. She is also a fan of thrift stores and of Joe’s Jeans, “I seriously can’t live without them.”
Brown Leather boots with purple stitching:  Kenzie
Tights:  Express
Mini-Dress:  Target (under $20!)
Denim Jacket:  “Super ancient, I’ve had it since I was 16.”
Feather Necklace:  Francesca’s
Leather “Rose” Crossover Bag:  Gianni Bini
Laura looks adorable in her mix between classic and eye-catching in leather, denim and feathers.

Don't be a silly sally and forget to enter my giveaway!  Who doesn't want free stuff?????

Also, puh-leez vote for my blog to win the Refinery 29 Style Blogger Contest!!!  The winner gets an internship with them!!!!  All you have to do is click the heart located in the top, right corner of this blog.

Fancy Hands Giveaway!

Hello Everyone Remember when I made the promise that I would host a giveaway for every giveaway that I won?  If not, click to see that it's true

I recently won Olive Essence Face Cream from Spa De Soleil and Beauty Blogette!

See!

I love this face cream!  I have NOTHING negative to say about it, which is pretty fan-tastic! I'm a girl, so let's face it, complaining comes easy, but no complaints here! It wasn't too oily, it didn't leave my skin dry, it left my face perfectly moisturized, which I appreciated! I really have nothing else to say because if this was the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and this face cream was porridge, it would be "JUST RIGHT!"

I have been following Beauty Blogette for quite some time now and if you've never heard of this amazing blog, you should definitely check it out, like for sure!  There are lots of a-mazing giveaways and lots of beauty product reviews!  We as shopaholics, are guilty of buying products, trying them and being like, "uhhh."  Well, to save you from that feeling of "uhh" and the inevitable shoppers remorse, check out Beauty Bloggette.  She gives amazing reviews.

And now for the main event, the GIVEAWAY!

I love nail polish strips, love themI have a problem sitting still and just waiting, who wants to do that, it's tortureSo whenever I paint my nails, I always tend to touch something, mess up my nails and then get REALLY mad, and no one wants to deal with a really mad womanWith nail polish strip, there is no drying time, so these are simply perfect for me.  I love you all so much that I bought some for you and some for me!  You didn't think I would be left out, did you?  I'm a shopaholic!

This is what the "Blue Jeans" shade looks like.  This would be the perfect finishing touch to complete your look if you were going for the ultimate Canadian Tuxedo!

This is what the shade "Red-y for Trouble" looks like.

Disclaimer: Whatever trouble you get into after applying the polish strips is not my responsibility.

Now that you have two manicures raring to go, what do you need to polish off (get it?!) your look?

  A ring, duh!

I am not exactly sure what size this ring is (don't hate me).  It's bigger than a 7, that's for sure, because I wear a size 7 and it won't fit me.  The good news is that whoever wins this will hopefully have 10 fingers to try it on, and I hope that it will fit one of them.  However if it does not, you can complain about it and then give it to someone else and make their day a little brighter, don't be a Selfish Shellfish!

Oh, you wanna win, do you?

All ya gotta do to be entered in the giveaway is one of the following (and then let me know what you did by leaving a comment on this post, I'm not omniscient). However, the more things you do, the more chances you will have to win!
